SMP Cares is Standard Motor Products' corporate social responsibility program. Since 2010, SMP Cares has invested more than $12 million in community programs, educational initiatives, and environmental projects across the communities where our employees live and work.
Education & Workforce Development
SMP partners with technical colleges, high schools, and workforce development organizations to build the next generation of automotive technicians and manufacturing professionals. Our scholarship program has awarded more than $2.4 million to students pursuing STEM and automotive technology degrees.
Environmental Stewardship
Beyond our operational sustainability commitments, SMP Cares funds community environmental projects including urban tree planting, watershed restoration, and recycling education programs in communities near our manufacturing facilities.
Community Investment
SMP employees volunteer thousands of hours annually through our employee volunteer program. We match employee charitable contributions dollar-for-dollar up to $1,000 per year and provide paid volunteer time off for approved community service activities.
Disaster Relief
When natural disasters affect communities where SMP employees live and work, SMP Cares mobilizes quickly to provide financial support, in-kind donations, and employee assistance. We have responded to more than 20 disaster events since the program's founding.
